The Thessalonians Looked For The Day Of The Lord

Brothers and sisters, I failed to get this out in correct order as we looked at Thessalonians. We are at a place in 2 Thessalonians which describes the very last days. A place I believe this generation will see come to pass and it could be much sooner than we think. Seek holiness and prepare your hearts to meet the Lord. There is a remnant who will be a great blessing in days to come. We may be required to give our lives. There is a special crown for those who do. Of course, all we can give is a body that is passing away, for we who serve the King cannot die, but simply move out of these weak vessels into bodies like the Son of God.  

2 Thessalonians 2:1

1Now we ask you, brothers, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, and our gathering together to him, 2not to be so quickly upset or alarmed when someone claims that we said, either by some spirit, conversation, or letter that the Day of the Lord has already come. 

3Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, 

• for it will not come unless the rebellion takes place first (This is connected to Satan and his fallen ones.)  
• and the man of sin, who is destined for destruction, is revealed. 
• 4He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship. 
• As a result, he seats himself in the sanctuary of God and himself declares that he is God.

5Don’t you remember that I repeatedly told you about these things when I was still with you? 6You know what it is that is now holding him back, so that he will be revealed when his time comes. This could be "the rapture", but if it happens it does not mean there will not be countless saints who are martyred first. It appears crystal clear that Christians will see the anti christ, the man of sin.  

7For the secret of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the person now holding it back gets out of the way. 8Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will destroy with the breath of his mouth, rendering him powerless by the manifestation of his coming.

9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the power of Satan. 

• He will use every kind of power, 
• including miraculous signs, 
• lying wonders, 

10and every type of evil to deceive those who are dying, those who refused to love the truth that would save them. 11For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. 12Then ALL who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned.

If we are the generation to see the man of sin who is anti Christ, we will see from Satan, every kind of power and miraculous signs and lying wonders and every type of evil. 

Brothers and sisters, how are you living NOW. Are you participating in the evil world system. Do you have a portal called "TV" in your home to bring in evil? Are you receiving the doctrines of teachers and not judging the teachers words? Do you watch perverted programs and deceiving news, etc? Do your children watch Satanic inspired cartoons, programs and movies? Do you listen to their music, read their magazines and trash on your computers?

 If you are, you likely spend very little time in the scriptures and I am very fearful for your soul, as I do not think we can be filled with the evil world system and resist the greatest deception in recorded history. The first one left 8 people alive.  

I am preparing for it today and have been since 2001. I want to become more and more passionate about seeking God to rule and reign in me. He is my only hope for the future. I did it my way. Now I seek to count everything rubbish, for the joy of serving Jesus the Messiah, lover of my soul. I so want to hear "Well done thou good and faithful servant". What could ever be more wonderful than that? The alternatives include the Lord being "ashamed of us" and depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you".  

I believe both of the following passages may be connected to those above. 

Revelation 12:  ISV

10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say,

“Now the salvation, the power,

the kingdom of our God,

and the authority of his Messiahb have come.

For the one who accuses our brothers,

who accuses them day and night

in the presence of our God,

has been thrown out.

11Our brothersc conquered him by the blood of the lamb

and by the word of their testimony,

for they did not cling to their lives

even in the face of death.

12So be glad, heavens, and those who live in them!

How terrible it is for the earth and the sea,

because the Devil has come down to you, filled with rage,

knowing that his time is short!”

Luke 10:  ISV

17The 70h disciplesi came back and joyously reported, “Lord, even the demons are submitting to us in your name!”

18He told them, “I watched Satan falling from heaven like lightning. 19Look! I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to destroyj all the enemy’s power, and nothing will ever hurt you.20However, stop rejoicing because the spirits are submitting to you. Instead, rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
