Can A Believer Be Tempted Away From Faith?

Continuing through the New Testament, we see Paul praising the believers in chapters 1 & 2 of Thessalonians as to the faith he had seen in them. Time had passed and in chapter 3 Paul had sent Timothy to them to confirm their condition as they had heard Paul and Timothy had suffered persecution. Paul was concerned about this affecting their faith.

In chapter 3, there is clear warning and one we do not hear about. The ear tickling teachers of our day simply leave them out of their messages. You must understand we are in the latter days. People do not want sound doctrine and for sure do not want to hear biblical warnings. As a general rule, preachers would lose their large crowds and their livelihoods.  It is so easy for a paid watchman to simply ignore them. Paul did not and "warned night and day". Acts 20:31

Brothers and sisters, you must seek out the truth in the New Testament on your own. Be a Berean!! Judge ALL teachers.

1 Thessalonians 3:5-13  ISV

5But when I could stand it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out about your faith. I was afraid that the tempter had tempted you in some way, and that our work had been a waste of time.

6But Timothy has just now returned from visiting you and has told us the good news about your faith and love. He also told us that you always have fond memories of us and want to see us, just as we want to see you.

Paul becomes encouraged by the evidence of Timothy's report of their faith and love.

7That’s why, brothers, in all our distress and persecution we have been encouraged about you by your faith. 8For now we can go on living, as long as you continue to stand firm in the Lord. 9How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we have in God’s presence because of you? 10We pray very hard night and day that we may see you again face to face, so that we may equip you with whatever is lacking in your faith.
11Now may our God and Father and our Lord Jesus provide a way for us to visit you. 12May the Lord greatly increase your love for each other and for all people, just as we love you. 13Then your hearts will be strong, blameless, and holy in the presence of God, who is our Father, when our Lord Jesus appears with all his saints.

Acts 20: ISV Paul Warns The Ephesian Elders/Teachers/Shepherds

26I therefore declare to you today that I’m not responsible for the blood of any of you27because I never shrank from telling you the whole plan of God28Pay attention to yourselves and to the entire flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to be shepherds of God’s church, which he acquired with his own blood. 29I know that when I’m gone, savage wolves will come among you and not spare the flock. 30Indeed, some of your own men will arise and distort the truth in order to lure the disciples into following them. 31So be alert! Remember that for three years, night and day, I never stopped tearfully warning each of you.

32“I’m now entrusting you to God and to the message of his grace, which is able to build you up and secure for you an inheritance among all who are sanctified33I never desired anyone’s silver, gold, or clothes. 34You yourselves know that I worked with my own hands to support myself and those who were with me. 35In every way I showed you that by working hard like this we should help the weak and remember the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
