Healthy Doctrine and How We Live

Paul gives us a marvelous outline for Godly living, but our culture is totally contrary to what Paul teaches us. We live in a system that makes it almost impossible to meet together as the early church did daily, and house to house. To live a Godly life we must each get into the scriptures for ourselves, find out what they say and obey God. The times are very evil and will get much worse.

As you go through these passages think about the TV. You will see each Godly principal is contrary to the message TV is taking into the homes. Do you think Jesus would have a TV in his house which is connected to the TV stations? I ask this regularly and I am horrified how often the answer is "yes".

Try taking it out of your house and you will find out how much it is worshiped and how valuable the Lord and you are, compared to the TV. If you have a question about Jesus having a TV connected to the stations, consider what Jesus had written in both the Old and New Testaments. Meanwhile, most of the pastors are asleep, lukewarm or cold and refuse to warn God's people.

2 Corinthians 6  ISV
 17Therefore,
“Get away from them
and separate yourselves from them,”
declares the Lord,j
and don’t touch anything unclean.
Then I will welcome you.
18I will be your Father,
and you will be my sons and daughters,”
declares the Lordk Almighty.l

Titus 2  ISV  Guidelines for Christian Living
1But as for you, teach what is consistent with healthy doctrine

2Older men are to be
  • sober,
  • serious,
  • sensible,
  • and sound in faith, love, and endurance.
3Likewise, older women are to
  • show their reverence for God by their behavior.
  • They are not to be gossips
  • or addicted to alcohol,
  • but to be examplesa of goodness.
  • 4They should encourage the younger women to
  • love their husbands,
  • to love their children,
  • 5to be sensible and pure, to manage their households,
  • to be kind,
  • and to submit themselves to their husbands.
Otherwise, the word of God may be discredited.b

6Likewise, encourage the younger men to be sensible

7Always set an example for others by doing good actions.
  • Teach with integrity and dignity.
  • 8Use wholesome speech that cannot be condemned. Then any opponent will be ashamed because he cannot say anything bad about us.
9Slaves are to submit to their masters in everything, aiming to please them and not argue with them 10or steal from them. Instead, they are to show complete and perfect loyalty, so that in every way they may make the teaching about God our Savior more attractive.

11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people
  • 12It trains us to
  • renounce ungodly living
  • and worldly passions
  • so that we might live sensible, honest, and godly lives in the present age 13as we wait for the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.c
  • 14He gave himself for us to set us free from every wrong and to cleanse us
  • so that we could be his special people who are enthusiastic about doing good deeds.
15These are the things you should teach. Encourage and refute with full authority. Do not let anyone look down on you.

Proverbs 3  ISV
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not depend on your own understanding.
6In all your ways acknowledgec him,
and he will make your paths straight.
7Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8This will bring healing to your body,
and refreshment to your bones.

Trust & Obey
