Christians, True Love And The Love Of Money.

This is the last chapter of Hebrews. As we look at the warnings from Paul and the Apostles, this final chapter has some serious warnings and reminders.

Hebrews 13 ISV
1Let brotherly love continue.
2Stop neglecting to show hospitality to strangers, for by showing hospitalitya some have had angels as their guests without being aware of it.

3Continue to remember those in prison as if you were in prison with them, as well as those who are mistreated, since they also are only mortal.b

4Let marriage be kept honorable in every way, and the marriage bed undefiled. For God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.
  • Comment - Brothers and sisters God means what he says. Sexual sins and especially adultery bring death into our lives and we can count on being judged. To commit sexual sins or adultery is to choose to devastate our life. Even if God forgives us, it is still true insanity to commit adultery. It is choosing to bring death into our being. .

5Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for Godc has said, “I will never leave you or abandon you.”d 6Hence we can confidently say, “The Lorde is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”f

7Remember your leaders, those who have spoken God’s word to you. Think about the impact of their lives, and imitate their faith. 8Jesus, the Messiah,g is the same yesterday and today—and forever!
  • Comment - The leaders Paul is referring to were ones Paul knew could be trusted. Just because someone has taken the title "pastor" or "teacher" does not mean you are to listen or trust them. We are to listen to God, not people such as Creflo Dollar who loves money and then would warn you that if you challenge him, you are not to "touch God's anointed". Paul commended the Bereans for challenging what he taught with the scriptures. Get into the scriptures. Do not trust man. Man will lead you to hell.

9Stop beingh carried away by all kinds of unusual teachings, for it is good that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by food lawsi that have never helped those who follow them.
