The Seriousness Of Continued Sin

I am looking at Paul’s letter to the Romans to show how I believe grace has been perverted in our day and has been for centuries. Many of today’s teachers are abandoning the scriptures and perverting truth. People  are listening to doctrines of demons as many false teachers pervert the Word of God.

There is an ongoing thread in the scriptures of warning after warning. True love warns. God himself is the only source of true love.

Romans 1 ISV
Paul gives a very precious greeting to those he is writing to. Let’s identify just who Paul is writing to in Rome. I highly recommend you read along in your bible as not all passages are quoted.
·         6You, too, are among those who have been called to belong to Jesus the Messiah.
·         7To: Everyone in Rome, loved by God and called to be holy.
·         May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours!
·          8First of all, I thank my God through Jesus the Messiah for all of you, because the news about your faith is being reported throughout the world.
Paul tells those he wrote to:
·         16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for the salvation of everyone who believes, of the Jew first and of the Greek as well. 17For in the gospel God’s righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.”
·         18For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth. 19For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them. Paul goes on through the end of the chapter telling about the wickedness of fallen man.

Romans 2 ISV
In chapter 2 Paul continues to write to the same group of people he  had spoken so warmly to in chapter one and warns those who judge others while they practice the same sin.
·         1Therefore, you have no excuseevery one of you who judges. For when you pass judgment on another person, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2Now we know that God’s judgment against those who act like this is based on truth. 3So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on those who practice these things and then do them yourself, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4Or are you unaware of his rich kindness, forbearance, and patience, that it is God’s kindness that is leading you to repent? Brothers and sisters this would appear to be telling some of those he wrote to that being led to repent is an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. Why would Paul give some of the same people he wrote to so warmly such a serious warning? It appears that the kindness of God’s leading people to repent may be abandoned and they will experience God’s judgment and wrath. It appears repentance is a lifelong action and an ongoing work of God.

·          5But because of your stubborn and unrepentant heart you are reserving wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
·         7eternal life to those who strive for glory, honor, and immortality by patiently doing good;
·         8but wrath and fury for those who in their selfish pride refuse to believe the truth and practice wickedness instead.
·         9There will be suffering and anguish for every human being who practices doing evil, for Jews first and for Greeks as well.
·         10But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who practices doing good, initially for Jews but also for Greeks as well, 11because God does not show partiality. Brothers and sisters, do you see a “grace” here that permits the continuing in sin? Or do you see how “grace” has been perverted and Paul defines good works as defining who has or who does not have eternal life? We know we cannot earn our salvation and it is a gift from God, but somewhere along the line we have moved away from the truths concerning God’s requirements for believers to do what he said . I personally believe this is a result of man’s pride in believing he can understand all scripture. Systematic theology has in many cases systematically led people astray. I am afraid many have made “grace” an idol which washes away continued sinning and the necessity of good works as quoted by Paul above. Paul, speaking under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit tells us in verse 10, “God does not show partiality”

Why do I write about the warnings in the scripture? Because they have been abandoned by most preachers and teachers in our day. Many preachers are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Some people including believers upon hearing the warnings will repent and continue to follow Jesus the Messiah. They will discover that the warnings come straight from the only source of Love, Jesus the Messiah who came as God, becoming a human. He was born of a virgin and had pure undefiled blood from God. He went to the cross and took the wrath of God for the sin of the world. He rose again on the third day. All who believe in him are to repent, stop practicing sin and follow him. He promises them eternal life.

Read your bible slowly line by line. You can trust it. God has preserved it!! Especially read the gospels and New Testament. Do not trust your soul to a pastor, teacher or any man.

Sincerely,
Warren McGrew III.
