God TV is a veritable who's-who of false teachers and prophets. From Hillsong to Bethel. From Cindy Jacobs to Kim Clement. From IHOP to Benny Hinn. So shameless they even partner with the disgraced Todd Bentley and the absurd Jesse Duplantis. Joseph Prince, Kenneth Hagin, Joyce Meyer, Patricia King and Planetshakers. If you are looking for a heretic, you need to look no further than God TV. Which is why it came as little shock that the founder, Rory Alec has fallen. Alec has stepped down citing a "moral failure", which is a Christian euphemism for adultery. Not only has he stepped down but he has told his wife and partner in God TV that he wants nothing more to do with ministry or their marriage. He says he wants a new life with the divorced woman he ruined his marriage over.
This is not a writing about the adultery and failure. We are all human and anyone can fall. I feel badly for Wendy Alec as a person but she does not understand that when you deal in the false for a living it should not be surprising to discover the enemy is right next to you. Wendy said recently that she had a good marriage but the devil got in "very very easily." Of course he did. They invited him in. Do you think you can promote so many people who are destroying the witness for Christ on this planet and not have repercussions? Do you think you can partner with so many wolves who make a living from slaughtering the sheep of God and not face consequences?

So it is no wonder that the false teacher/prophet brigade has already come out to defend the God TV money making machine. Bill Johnson has said that people need to throw their weight behind God TV now. False Prophet Kim Clement has said that he prays Rory Alec returns to His "God given calling." Not that he repent. Not that he work on his marriage. Not that he realize the damage he has done to the people of God. No, that he comes back to run God TV. Perhaps the most absurd comment was given by false prophetess "General" Cindy Jacobs, who provided what she called a "prophetic word."
Jacobs also claims to have broken a spirit of grief over viewers by proclaiming this:
"We are going to rise above this, we as family together. We are taking the battle to the heavens, and we're going to win."
Sometimes it is difficult for me to tell if people in the business of merchandising God are seriously deluded or seriously depraved to the point that they simply do not believe in God. I say this because of the utter stupidity of this statement, let alone lying and pretending it is a "prophetic" word. That means Jacobs is saying God said this. We know this cannot be true because God had nothing to do with God TV. God does not promote wolves who kill His sheep. God does not promote fake healers like Benny Hinn. He does not promote greasy grace preachers like Joseph Prince. He does not partner with people like Todd Bentley who punch and kick people in the name of Jesus and pretend they are drunk and stoned in the spirit. Isaiah 52:7 is not a "media anointing."
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" - Isaiah 52: 7 (NIV)
God TV is a lineup of people who do the opposite of this! Robert Morris of Gateway Church does not bring good news - he preaches you are cursed if you do not send him your first ten percent out of your paycheck! IHOP does not proclaim peace! They teach kids they have to be part of an end times army that needs to prepare the earth for the second coming of Christ! These people do not say to anyone that Your God reigns! They say that their god reigns. Joseph Prince says that his god is never angry with you no matter how bad you sin. Bill Johnson's god says that it is always the will of god to heal you and if you are sick, it must be your fault. Hillsong says their god wants you rich beyond the dreams of avarice. Todd Bentley's god wants to punch you! Kenneth Copeland's god doesn't mind that he has two private jets, which makes Benny Hinn's god jealous because they only have one. It doesn't matter which false teacher we look at that is partnered with God TV, it is not THE God that reigns in their preaching.
The mistress in this story allegedly has said that she heard God telling her that Rory was her Mr. Right. This is what happens when you play church. This is what happens when you play a game with your Christianity. This is what happens when you abandon doctrine for your own experiences and feelings. All she would need is her Bible to know that God could not have told her that because it would violate His own Word! I have talked before about Jesus Culture's Kim Walker-Smith and her ridiculous testimony regarding her visit to the throne room where she met the Father face to face. When the Bible does not mean anything to you it is easy to be deceived. The Bible would let Kim know that her visit was impossible.
Which brings us to our key verse for today. Beloved, there are people, a lot of people, across Christendom who preach solely to make merchandise of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They peddle the Word, not preach it. There are so many media outlets that have sold out for this scheme. There is barely anything redeemable on what passes for Christian television anymore. God TV is at the head of the pack; partnering with nearly every false teacher and prophet working today. One huckster after another; slaughtering the sheep for filthy lucre. We feel badly for Wendy Alec on a personal and human level. Adultery is a devastating sin. There is a reason why God has spoken so much against it. But on a kingdom and spiritual level we must understand that when we dance with the devil he will always insist on leading. Wendy says the devil got into her marriage way too easily but she fails to see that she invited him in. Both her and her husband did when they chose to build a media empire on the backs of slaughtered sheep. Pray for them both beloved. Not that their heretical ministry continues but that they both repent before they stand before Christ.
