The Holy Spirit and the Kingdom of God

Brothers and sisters, we have been so misled. After Jesus went back to the Father, He was no longer here, but the Father sent the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. The disciples never told anyone to make a decision, receive, accept, or ask Jesus to come into their heart, after Jesus went to the Father. We should have been taught this.

The scriptures teach us to:

Be baptized in water
Repent toward God,
Believe in the Lord Jesus
Receive the Holy Spirit

These should have been addressed in the beginning, but many, such as myself, took countless years for all four to take place. I received the Holy Spirit 50 years after I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins! An untold number have never repented, or been baptized. We cannot have power with out having done all four. Even Jesus was baptized in water and received the Holy Spirit. He then went out in the power of the Holy Spirit!!! This is closely connected to the Kingdom of God.

If you died today, would you be able to enter the Kingdom of God?  Please read the following. Make your calling and election sure. There is a race to finish! Five virgins out of ten, went out into outer darkness.
--------------------------------
Acts 1 NASB

      1The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen. 3To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God4Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; 5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
      6So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” 7He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; 8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

      9And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Acts 14 NASB

       21After they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
(When you are filled with the Spirit, trials will come. Have you counted the cost? wm)

Acts 28 NASB

     23When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.24Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe25And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,
26saying, (to most of the Jews who rejected Jesus. wm)

   ‘GO TO THIS PEOPLE AND SAY,
            “YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARINGBUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;
            AND YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEINGBUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;
      27FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL,
            AND WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR,
            AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES;
            OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES,
            AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS,
            AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN,
            AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.”’
      28Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.” 29[When he had spoken these words, the Jews departed, having a great dispute among themselves.]
      30And he stayed two full years in his own rented quarters and was welcoming all who came to him, 31preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.

Romans 14 NASB

      17for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

1 Corinthians 6 NASB

      9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God11Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Galations 5 NASB (You cannot serve two masters at once. A Christian has that choice every day of living in the Spirit or the Flesh. What will it be brethren? wm).

      16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh17For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
      25If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit26Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

Colossians 1 NASB

(Paul had heard about their faith in Christ Jesus and the love they have for all the saints..wm)_
      9For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. (kingdom of Light)

      13For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Brethren, we cannot just apply this verse to ourselves because we said a "sinner's prayer". The question is are we obeying what Jesus said to do. Today is the day of salvation! Read what Jesus said in Ezekiel 18. Jesus also told his disciples that they as a branch had to abide in Him and if they did not bring forth fruit, His Father would put them in a pile and branches like that are burned.  This is about our souls and eternal destination. Do not trust man, Seek the scriptures.

I posted the warnings in the New Testament, starting on 6-12-2014. I started in 1 Corinthians and went through each book or letter. This will help you see the seriousness of how we deal with God. wm
