Is it true that one sin can keep you out of heaven?
Jack Van impe's erroneous answer to that question is:
No. [Ibid, p. 59.]
On some occasions, according to Scripture, salvation can be lost with one sin. (It doesn’t always happen this quickly, though.) Remember, Adam and Eve lost their salvation with justone sin! (It wasn’t “lifestyle” sinning for them.) Also, if a Christian takes the mark of the beast he will lose his salvation over that one act. Thirdly, it is possible to disown Jesus with one’s remarks which can happen with just a few words and very Q-U-I-C-K-L-Y (Mt.26:34). Jesus said, But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.(Mat 10:33) Hence, if Jesus disowns us, we can’t be part of his spiritual family any more.
There are also other ways to lose one’s salvation besides sinning. If a Christian stops believing the true plan of salvation and accepts a false plan of salvation he will lose his salvation (Gal. 5:2-4;1 John 2:24,25; 1 Cor. 15:2; 2 John 9; etc.)
In conclusion: Since Jack Van Impe poisonously teaches a Christian can live in sin and not lose his salvation, he would consistently also believe you can’t lose your salvation over one sin or any amount of sin. Please consult our 801 page book, The Believer's Conditional Security for the Biblical details on this salvation-related issue. Don’t be deceived by Jack Van Impe or any other Scripture twister.
GOD BLESS YOU.
