I see a pattern in much of the New Testament. The writer, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit greets, commends, praises and then warns. Some warnings clearly reject the so called "once saved always saved" teaching.
In our day the warnings are left out of most preaching.
Please brothers and sisters, judge yourselves. When you read the warnings do not read them thinking they do not apply to you and you cannot fall away. You clearly can. It is a war to judge yourself. Paraphrasing, Jesus warned his disciples that if they did not abide in him they would be burned. Read Ezekiel 18. Jesus gives the gospel.
Warnings of Jesus Christ. Recorded by Matthew.
Chapter 19 NASB
3Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?” 4And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, 5and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’? 6“So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” 7They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?” 8He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. 9“And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
10The disciples said to Him, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.” 11But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. 12“For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.”

16And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” 17And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”18Then he said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; 19HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” 20The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24“Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
(Jesus died for the sin of the world. Only He, the Son of God, could pay the price to redeem those who would turn and believe on his name. We are responsible for what we do. James tells us "faith without works is dead." We will be judged by our works. The Revelation has Jesus saying several times to the churches "I know your deeds") wm
-------
29“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.
Chapter 21
28“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ 29“And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. 30“The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go. 31“Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you. 32“For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even feel remorse afterward so as to believe him.
Knowing ahead, yet being led away and falling (2Peter 3:17)

God delivered just Lot, (God does make a difference between the person that is wicked and those who keep themselves from the wickedness through the Lord).
Lot was vexed by the wickedness of the culture. God took great measures to get Lot out of harms way of impending judgment.
There is a deliberate plot to desensitize the population into a state that is godless, without God, one that will be more receptive of serving the devil the dragon.
Recall, that the whole world will worship the BEAST and the devil in the last days. That every nation is lost and under judgment of God. That every world leader is serving the Dragon.
Knowing this, since it is written in scripture, don't you think it would be advisable to warn people? Shouldn't you take absolute more care to keep yourself from the defiling of the devil?
The young ladies, Madonna, Britney Spears, now Miley Cyrus, have all been used to bring desensitization to the psyche of the population. I have been seeing Miley Cyrus as a good example of this with her extreme lewdness yet people take it in stride generally. This is the desensitization. You get to where things are not troubling or grieving, and you become numb and indifferent, soon, before long, you become talking and acting the same manner.
Of course, the devil came to Jesus Himself and offered Him various temptations but He resisted and answered with scripture. But, there are so many today that have taken the devil at his offer and have been put on pedestals of power, fame and influence, which is known in the scripture as the "pride of life". They are offered any pleasure they want, this is the lust of the flesh, and are given riches, and thus, they have the lust of the eyes. These are the three lusts seen in the garden with Eve and spoken by John in 1John 2:16.
You better understand how this works. "Take heed, be ware, give heed" and such are the admonitions in the Word of God. Gird the loins of your mind. Cast down imaginations that exalt themselves over the knowledge of God, place your thoughts to the obedience to the Lord; have the helmet of salvation, give no place to the devil; don't believe every spirit, try the spirits, discern, try, examine, check and you had best have a clear sound EYE. Are your spiritual senses exercised? Are you eating a bunch of leaven? Leaven is false doctrine of the pharisees. Leaven is hypocrisy---acting a religious part. Leaven is unclean sexual sin as in 1Corinthians 5 the Church of the fornicators. (Fornication was not rebuked by the elders in the Corinthians assembly, they were actually "puffed up" where they should have been ashamed and calling for repentance.) Fornicators are not going to receive the Kingdom of God anyway...and their is a list of the disqualified in 1Co 6:9 and other texts of Galatians 5:15-21, Ephesians 5:1-8... Hmmm, I wonder why the church world doesn't talk about this? Could it be money? Maintaining a popular religious hangout where more money comes in to pay the hirelings? What do you think? True ministries of Jesus speak as He speaks. Do as He does. Seek to please Him. Those who don't aren't His servants.
This is deadly stuff.
There are only a few that will make it. Many will believe the lies. Many will fall away. Many will follow the false christs, the false prophets, teachers, apostles and everything else that is false. "Buy the truth and sell it not.

part II and III following
(Lastly)
ReplyDeleteIII The last point I have today is this:
People do not generally give enough care to how they offend God.
Think about that.
When we sin, yes, we have an advocate with God Jesus Christ our Lord. We can confess our sin and He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But, if we are insincere and continue in the darkness of sin, we lie and are acting. God hates this.
God sends the Holy Spirit into the world to convict the world because of sin. The people harden their heart against the Spirit. There is an internal war going on. They sin, the Holy Spirit convicts. They harden the heart, the conviction is less strong. The heart becomes harder and harder and God's voice becomes less and less.
We see people do not want to feel bad inside. This is why they pound a jug of this or that. This is why they numb themselves with what ever means they can be it TV, illicit pleasure, games, drugs and the list is long. But the results are short. The end of these things is death.
God is willing and able to save to the uttermost. God has done His part and He still acts through His Spirit in drawing people to the Lord Jesus. But, if they love their darkness more than the light, then they are doomed to destruction of death. John 3:19-21; 36
I think the religious world has it worse than the unchurched. As long as you can play a part and cover over the real you in the prison inside, then, you have essentially made your own cell. There is a glorious liberty in Christ. It is amazing. With so many of these things underway in the world today, it seems imperative that true followers of Jesus sound the alarm to people to seek the Lord and repent of their evil ways. Call upon Him while He is near. He will pardon and forgive, cleanse and heal. But the time will come when the Lord puts on His armor of war and will tread His enemies under His feet to the point His white garments are drenched in the blood of the rebelling wicked.
Something foreign to hear?
REVELATION 19:
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his F and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

ReplyDeleteRight on. We have been deceived by the teachers who tickle our ears and do not warn. Very good word. Praise God!
