I believe the scriptures are clear that believers will see the Antichrist and this could be in the next few years. Most people are looking for a rapture instead of the resurrection. We are not appointed to God's wrath, but countless millions of Christians have been murdered since Jesus went to the Father. They experienced the wrath of Satan which is coming on the earth in a way not seen yet. Paul, Sivanus and Timothy tell us in:
2 Thessalonians 2 ISV:
- 1Now we ask you, brothers, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah,a and our gathering together to him, 2not to be so quickly upsetb or alarmed when someone claims that we said,c either by some spirit, conversation, or letter that the Day of the Lord has already come. 3Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for it will not come unless
- the rebelliond takes place first
- and the man of sin,e who is destined for destruction,f is revealed. 4He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship. As a result, he seats himself in the sanctuaryg of God and himself declares that he is God.
The Holy Spirit is also preparing us to meet Jesus who is coming for a bride who has made herself ready. All the warnings in the scriptures are for our good, to keep us from falling away, and for us to be holy. Half of the ten virgins did not have enough oil and were rejected by the Lord.
I am reminded of an old song I sang and heard so many times. I shudder to think about the times I walked in rebellion, when I could have crossed the "line that is drawn by rejecting our Lord" and did not value his mercy which is only for a period of time. If you have not turned from your sin and surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ, this warning may be the last time you can do so.
Have You Counted the Cost?
- There's a line that is drawn by rejecting our Lord
Where the call of His Spirit is lost
And you hurry along with the pleasure-mad throng
Have you counted, have you counted the cost? - You may barter your hope of eternity's morn
For a moment of joy at the most
For the glitter of sin and the things it will win
Have you counted, have you counted the cost? - While the door of His mercy is open to you
Ere the depth of His love you exhaust
Won't you come and be healed, won't you whisper, I yield
I have counted, I have counted the cost
- Have you counted the cost if your soul should be lost
Tho' you gain the whole world for your own?
Even now it may be that the line you have crossed
Have you counted, have you counted the cost?
